Geagea: Koura election a battle against Syrian regime

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea held a press conference on Friday to call on supporters to participate in Sundays subsidiary elections.
"Koura symbolizes a strategic election battle in the face of the Syrian regime, " he said, insisting that winning the election is of utmost importance.

Geagea stressed that the elections should be civilized and democratic, adding that the winner will be determined by the people.

“We do not wish to provoke; we are rather seeking a peaceful way to implement our political agenda”, he added.

Geagea went on to accuse the Syrian regime of being responsible for the death and immigration of many Koura residents in the past.

Geagea added that his party’s victory in the elections will constitute an “exit out of the tunnel of arms, assassinations as well as the economic, financial and sovereign crisis and will also mark the beginning of a series of electoral victories that will be culminated with the formation of an effective cabinet”.
