Deputies cited Speaker Nabih Berri as stressing the need for the judiciary and regulatory bodies to assume their role fully in the face of corruption, irregularities and rampant scandals.
On the governmental issue Berri emphasized during Wednesday’s deputies gathering the need to work for the formation of the government as soon as possible," adding that "there is a new attempt to resolve this issue, which we hope will lead to the desired outcomes.”
"The country can no longer tolerate this situation, and everyone must assume their responsibilities and work for the formation of a national unity government which can accommodate all and which would carry the responsibility to face all the challenges, including the economic challenge which remains on top of our concerns as it has repercussions on the financial, social and living conditions," Berri reportedly said.
