Former Interior Minister Marwan Charbel expressed his surprised over the assignment of the ISF Information Branch with summoning former Minister Wiam Wahhab, stressing that such mission does not come within the framework of the branch’s duties.
In a statement to LBCI, Charbel noted that “the Information Branch cannot refuse the order of the State Prosecutor Samir Hammoud since it answers to the Public Prosecution,” explaining that the Internal Security Forces Directorate General is forces to implement the orders of the judicial authority.
“If there was any dispute between two political parties, the ISF should not be used as a scapegoat,” he stated.
