News attributed to Aoun on Cabinet formation inaccurate - presidency's media office

The Presidency's media office said on Friday that news attributed to President Michel Aoun about the Cabinet formation are inaccurate and do not reflect the president’s position on the government formation.

The media office also noted that Constitution granted lawmakers the right to name a prime minister-designate and if the government formation remains deadlocked, “it is normal to put such a matter in the hands of the parliament’s speaker to act accordingly.”
