Erdogan fails to exert pressure on Russian officials on Syria

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on the margins of his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan, that Moscow will not allow the UN Security Council to issue a resolution supporting the “revolution” in Syria.

Lavrov told journalists on the margins of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and erdogan, that amid this situation, adopting the western draft resolution would offer the revolutionary movement a direct support.

Lavrov stressed that they will not accept the Chapter 7 and sanctions on Syria.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan travelled to Moscow to hold talks on the Syrian crisis.

Putin and Erdogan kicked off talks in Kremlin as the Syrian capital Damascus witnessed a suicide attack that targeted Syria's national security building and killed Defense Minister Daoud Abdullah Rajha, and Assef Shawkat, brother-in-law of President Bashar al-Assad and injuring several officials.
