Syrians flee as clashes erupt in Aleppo for the 2nd day in a row

Clashes between regime troops and armed opposition groups continued for the second day in a row in the northern city of Aleppo, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.     

The Local Coordination Committees registered on Saturday the displacement of the residents of Aleppo’s neighborhood of Salah Eddine for fear of the regime’s shelling.

Meanwhile, witnesses said that tensions are still prevailing in Damascus, despite the drop in clashes and shelling on Saturday morning.        

The Observatory announced that the capital’s neighborhoods of Qadam and Assali were shelled by the Syrian regime troops on Saturday at dawn.  

The regime troops also stormed the town of Chebaa in Rif Dimashq overnight after they shelled it using mortars and helicopter machine guns, destroying nine houses, killing one person and wounding dozens, according to the Observatory.     

In Homs, the Observatory reported that the neighborhoods of al-Khalidiyya, Jouret al-Chiyah and al-Karabiss were shelled by the regime troops that are trying to take over them.
