Inside the Finance Ministry, work is underway in cooperation with experts from the World Bank to set up a plan aimed at rescuing Lebanon’s economy and state’s finances, over a period of 5 years.
The main headlines of the plan, according to information made available to LBCI, include a plan to address the public debt through cooperation between the Finance Ministry, Lebanon’s Central Bank and private banks, to reduce the debt bill in three years.
Tackling the deficit caused by the electricity is also among the main headlines, as well as radical reforms concerning the employment and retirement and plans to rescue and revive productive sectors, such as agriculture and industry.
