Disputes, lawsuits between Assir and 2 Sidon’s residents

Sidon witnessed a calm atmosphere on Saturday following disputes that took place on Friday evening between Assir’s supporters and a number of the city’s residents.

Walid al-Yaman and Mahmoud al-Dandashli said that when they arrived near the “al-Arabi restaurant” where Assir’s supporters were distributing flyers, the dispute erupted when they refused to take a flyer.

Al-Yaman noted that Assir’s supporters broke his car’s glass when he refused to take the flyer, while al-Dandashli said that Sheikh Assir personally punched him in the face.

Both citizens stressed that they will file a lawsuit against those who attacked them.

However, Sheikh Assir filed a lawsuit against al-Yaman for attempting to kill him and against al-Dandashli on charges of libel and slander.
