The Iranian Embassy in Lebanon responded in a statement issued on Tuesday on the visit paid by US Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale to Lebanon, noting that that this visit comes within the framework of “blatant intervention in other countries’ affairs and imposing decisions, describing it as provocative.
In the statement, the embassy stated that the US strategy seeks to change the course of some states’ policies according to its regional and global mood and interests, adding that it also seeks to devote the Israeli occupation at the expense of the rights of the Palestinian people, as well as the Muslims and Christians in Jerusalem.
The embassy pointed out that this strategy is based on inciting wars and creating sedition between countries and between the factions of one people.
“US envoy Hale ignores the fact that his country was the main supporter for terrorist and extremist movements, including Daesh, which burned everything in its wake with a regional and US financial and logistical support, in an attempt to wipe out the Axis of Resistance in the region,” the statement read, adding that “despite its defeat, the United States continues to look for what could compensate for their losses under new titles.”
