Former Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouk stressed Wednesday that PM Saad Hariri chose him as Interior Ministry in two governments, adding that “he cannot express enough his gratitude for this confidence that some say it has become in the past, but they are wrong,” as he said.
During the handover ceremony at the Interior Ministry, al-Mashnouq said explained after the debate raised over the issue of the cement blocks, that he followed the instruction of Minister Raya al-Hassan.
Regarding the issue of the general amnesty, he said that he recommends fulfilling the general amnesty as soon as possible according to fair standards, away from sectarianism.
As for the issue of the refugees, which he deemed the most complicated, he noted that the Interior Ministry plays an essential role in this regard, “and we’ll see how things will go.”
