Lebanese cabinet passes Policy Statement

The cabinet passed Thursday the 13-page Policy Statement during a session held at Baabda palace under the chairmanship of President Michel Aoun.

Following the session, Information Minister Jamal al-Jarrah noted that the majority of the modifications to the Policy Statement were of a linguistic nature for more clarification.

This comes as the Lebanese Forces voiced objection over the failure to add the expression “within the state’s legitimate institutions” to the paragraph related to the Resistance.

At the beginning of the cabinet session, President Michel Aoun said that the cabinet’s Policy Statement has covered all key issues, hoping that all the goals will be achieved without wasting time.

For his part, Prime Minister Saad Hariri called for governmental solidarity.
