Muallem: our doors open for dialogue and political solution

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem stressed on Wednesday that it is very important that the UN officials commit to objectivity and accuracy in dealing with the Syrian crisis. He called for holding the armed groups responsible for hindering the efforts deployed to end violence in Syria.

During a meeting with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Hervé Ladsous in Damascus, Muallem said that Syria is now defending its sovereignty and the unity of its territories. “Our doors are open to those who seek dialogue and political” he said.

Muallem stressed that Syria is committed to the plan of UN envoy Kofi Annan and it will fully cooperate with the observers’ mission.
