Constitutional Council annuls election of MP Dima Jamali

The Constitutional Council head Issam Sleiman asserted on Thursday that there is no reason to cancel any election In Beirut first electoral district.

Sleiman’s comments were made during a press conference whereby he annulled the election of Tripoli MP Dima Jamali in the latest parliamentary elections after her win was contested by unsuccessful candidate Taha Naji.

He also noted that elections in the Tripoli district of Minieh will be held within two months.
