Geagea comments on ruling issued by Judge Fatima Jouni

Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea commented Thursday on the ruling issued by Judge Fatima Jouni, dropping all the charges against LBCI and its chairman Pierre El Daher in the lawsuit filed by the Lebanese Forces against them.

Geagea posted on his twitter account a series of tweets, whereby he said: “We have been subjected to many unjust judgements and we haven’t stopped… We will keep going. The Lebanese Forces was not a militia, because the Lebanese State collapsed after 1975, but it was a resistance and it paid a high price so that the State can return after 1990.”

“Many current TV channels were owned by military organizations during the war and remain to this day; so why the Lebanese Forces is deprived of that, especially that it turned into a political party represented by 15 MPs in the parliament and 4 ministers in the cabinet?” he continued.

In a following tweet, he said: “It has been shown by this particular verdict that no sale has been made of the main LBC, which confirms the Lebanese Forces’ ownership of the channel, but the verdict did not give it back to the party for political reasons, not legal ones.”
