Scores of Algerians marched through Oran late on Sunday (March 3) to protest against President Abdelaziz Bouteflika's plan to seek re-election.
Footage published on social media shows large crowds walking through the streets chanting and raising their arms in the air.
According to witnesses and local television footage, protesters also turned out in their thousands in cities including capital Algiers, Constantine, Annaba, Batna, Blida, Skikda and Bouira. Some 6,000 also protested in central Paris, where many Algerians live.
