Director-General of Personal Status Elias Khoury issued a circular Tuesday calling for the complete exclusion of the term “illegitimate child” in personal status records.
This term has always represented a burden for whoever holds it, for example a child declared illegitimate as per family documents is considered “unsuitable for inheritance."
