President Aoun, King Abdullah II meet on sidelines of summit in Tunisia

President Michel Aoun met on Sunday with King of Jordan Abdullah II on the sidelines of the Arab Summit held in the Tunisian capital.

The meeting was held in the presence of Ministers Gebran Bassil, Raya El-Hassan, Mohamad Daoud and Saleh Al-Ghareeb, as well as Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Advisor to the Jordanian King Manar Al-Dabbas, and Jordanian Ambassador to Tunisia Awad Al-Sarhan.

Talks reportedly featured high over the bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them, in addition to the recent regional developments.

Discussions also touched the repercussions of the US recognition of Israel's sovereignty over Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, and its dangerous implications on the concerned countries, including Lebanon which is still demanding the return of its Shebaa farms, Kfarshuba hills and the village of al-Ghajar.

Also, views were exchanged on finding appropriate, quick and practical solutions for the return of the Syrian refugees to their lands, especially that Lebanon and Jordan both share the same burden, which is threatening the stability of the concerned countries.

President Aoun also briefed the Jordanian King about his visit to Russia and the Russian position on various issues, mainly the refugees crisis.
