The General Directorate of Personal Status issued a circular on Wednesday, ordering the use of the term "newborn" instead of "foundling" in the formal documents and records relevant to children of unknown parents.
In the circular, the Directorate explained that the use of the term "foundling" tampers with the dignity of the child in question, and exposes them to moral injury in the future.
