Speaker Berri: Lebanon's monetary and security stability ongoing

Speaker Nabih Berri said on Monday that the opportunity is now appropriate to proceed in resolving the issue of the displaced persons, adding that necessary understandings must be made with the Syrian state concerning their return.

Berri’s comments were made from Qatar whereby he noted that Lebanon does suffer from crisis related to the state's fiscal deficit, stressing however that Lebanon's monetary and security stability is ongoing.

On another note, the speaker said that the time had come to position Lebanon with the countries of the Middle East, Egypt, Syria and others to start the extraction of oil and gas and to stop the manipulation in demarcating Lebanon's maritime borders.
