Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Jerusalem's Mahne Yehuda open marketplace on Monday where he told supporters to vote for his Likud party, in a last-minute bid to win more votes in the country's general election on Tuesday.

Israelis vote in a parliamentary election on Tuesday, choosing among party lists of candidates to serve in the 120-seat Knesset.
Final polls in the campaign, on Friday, showed that Netanyahu had fallen behind his main challenger, centrist Benny Gantz, but still has an easier path to form a government that would keep him in power for a record fifth term.

Netanyahu told a crowd of cheering supporters that “The only way to close the gap and ensure with certainty that Likud will form the next government is to have a big Likud.”

No party has won a majority of seats since Israel's first election in 1949.
