Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil stressed Thursday the need to prevent avoiding any more opportunities in regards with oil and gas, emphasizing the importance of boosting cooperation with Cyprus to reach alliance on oil and gas.
Following a quadripartite meeting with the Cypriot foreign and energy ministers and Lebanon’s Energy Minister Nada Boustani, Bassil confirmed the need to speed up bilateral agreements, declaring that May 7 has been set as a date for primary presentation and another in June for a more accurate evaluation.
The minister added that Lebanon and Cyprus have friendly relations, hoping to reach more strategic ties.
Bassil also proposed that any oil or gas discovery between the two countries to be invested in joint projects.
