Special Operations Command Central Commander praises LAF’s efforts

The US embassy in Lebanon declared on Friday that the Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT) Commander Major General Ken Tovo visited Lebanon and met with Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Jean Qahwagi and other senior military officials.
During the meeting, the Generals discussed areas of continued military cooperation between the two countries, including SOCCENT’s help in training and equipping the Special Operations Forces of the Lebanese Armed Forces.

In a statement issued by the embassy, Major General Tovo also highlighted SOCCENT’s support for Lebanon’s initiatives regarding the implementation of its commitments under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. He also praised the LAF for its efforts to maintain calm in Lebanon, and security on the border with Syria. General Tovo reiterated the US commitment to a stable, sovereign and independent Lebanon.
