Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Elias Aoude declared Sunday that everyone is working to weaken the state and marginalizing the laws, noting that what is required at the moment is ending disagreements, avoiding the exchange of accusations, controlling the expenditure and putting an end to the waste of public funds.
During Easter mass at St. George Cathedral in downtown Beirut, Aoude noted that all the stolen money must be returned to the state’s treasury, stressing the need to declare a state of economic emergency.
