MP Ali Bazzi quoted Speaker Nabih Berri as saying on Wednesday that the 2019 state’s Budget is “a golden opportunity” to overcome all current circumstances of the country.
Berri’s comments were said during his weekly meeting with MPs in Ain el-Tineh whereby he noted that bankruptcy rumors reflect “a conspiratorial atmosphere.”
He also reiterated that people with low income and the middle class will not be affected by the austerity measures.
“The Lebanese lira is fine and there is no bankruptcy,” he stressed.
