National days of mourning declared for ex-Patriarch Sfeir

The premiership declared on Sunday that next Wednesday and Thursday are national days of mourning for former Maronite Patriarch Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir.

A memorandum issued by Prime Minister Saad Hariri said that the Lebanese flag would be lowered to half-mast at public administrations, institutions and municipalities on Wednesday and Thursday.

“Programs at radio stations and TVs will be adjusted to match the sad occasion,” the memo added.

On Thursday, when Sfeir is expected to be laid to rest, work will stop at all public administrations, municipalities and public and private institutions.
