Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea said Monday that the state budget that was referred to the parliament is better than the conventional budgets, noting that it could have been even better than the draft approved.
During a press conference, Geagea tackled the issue of the displaced, noting that “no one can outbid them in the case of the displaced.”
“We were surprised as to how an amount of 40 billion LBP was added to the budget at the last moment,” he said.
Geagea stressed that the Lebanese Forces will only allow this amount to be spent within a clear timetable and plan.
On another note, Geagea tackled the case of the murder of a citizen from al-Hujairi family in Syria, emphasizing that pro-Syrian regime members killed him and that ignoring this incident is unacceptable.
In this regard, the LF chief called on President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad Hariri, as well as the security forces to launch an investigation to reveal the circumstances of the incident.
