Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said Wednesday that “the last thing they want is to stir trouble with the Free Patriotic Movement," noting that “if we did seek trouble; we would not have supported Aoun as President of the Republic.”
In a press conference held in Maarab following the "Strong Republic" parliamentary bloc meeting, he called on the Free Patriotic Movement leader, Minister Gebran Bassil, to give his instructions to answer to the question and not to dig in the past.
"We frankly gave our input on the issue of the budget and instead of Minister of the displaced Ghassan Atallah answering logically; he resorted to a defensive tone and wrong statements," Geagea explained, adding that “if they want to talks about the war, it is us who hold the secrets of that war.”
"It is good that we now have a draft budget which we can discuss. It is indeed a better version of its precedents, but it does not live up to our expectations," the LF leader pointed out.
"I do not want to elaborate on the subject of the budget because we will be studying it and announcing our positions," Geagea concluded.
