Commenting on the protests witnessed by the Palestinian refugee camps, Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea said that these protests are not related to the decision taken by Labor Minister Kamil Abou Sleiman to regulate the foreign labor force in Lebanon in general, including the Palestinian labor, “especially because the minister has taken into consideration all the laws related to the Palestinians in Lebanon and gave them all the facilitations allowed within the law.”
In a statement, Geagea stressed that the movements staged by the Palestinians have purely political backgrounds, since some Palestinian groups, such as Hamas, and other Lebanese, such as Hezbollah, have been trying to promote the minister’s decision in another image.
Geagea thanked the Palestinian authority, mainly President Mahmoud Abbas on his honorable position, calling on all the Palestinians in Lebanon to refrain from believing rumors related to the Minister Abou Sleiman’s decision.
