President Michel Aoun said in an open meeting with 150 students from 30 Lebanese universities that "everyone should make sacrifices to get out of the current crisis. If we do not sacrifice today, we will lose a lot."
"I will hand over to the next president a much better country. We will continue to fight corruption without seeking to defame people," he stressed.
The president told his guests that he was seeking "to create a binding quota for people with special need," adding that "mixed marriages ensure the society's transition from sectarianism to civil society."
"Most of you have to stay, so as to promote and develop Lebanon," Aoun told the students.
