Lebanese Democratic Party leader MP Talal Erslan said on Monday that three initiatives were submitted by both Speaker Nabih Berri and General Security chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim to solve the Aley incident.

“However all three initiatives were aborted,” Erslan said during a press conference.

He also stressed that State Minister for Refugee Affairs Saleh al-Gharib will not attend any Cabinet’s session that does not tackle the Aley incident.

Erslan said that referring the case to the Judicial Council is “the normal refuge when a minister comes under an armed ambush.”
