Nasrallah: What happened in the past two days is out of Hezbollah and Amal's control

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Friday that what happened in Lebanon in the past two days was out of the control of Hezbollah and Amal Movement, calling on all parties to assume their responsibilities in this regard.      

In a speech held on the occasion of the International Quds Day, Nasrallah announced that the Lebanese hostages case has turned into a “humanitarian tragedy, a media mockery and a political bazar”. He pointed out that the Lebanese media performance in this case was “shocking” and media outlets were only trying to make a scoop.     

“So far, we don’t know who are the kidnappers in Syria or what they are thinking; this is why we are following up on the issue”, he said, adding “we kept silent for the sake of the abductees and we said that the state is responsible for solving this issue”. Nasrallah said Friday that Israelis must know that a possible attack against Lebanon would have a very high cost this time, adding "attacking our targets will turn the lives of millions of Israelis into a living hell".     

In this regard, Nasrallah threatened Israel, saying "with just a few missiles, we can kill tens of thousands of Israelis".      

Nasrallah said that Iran’s response would be "huge and shocking" should it be attacked by Israel, adding "Israel would be giving Iran the historic opportunity it has been dreaming of for 32 years".  

Commenting on Israel's position, Nasrallah stated that Israel is aware that it is lying to the world in regards to the Iranian nuclear weapons issue, adding that in the past few months, Israelis began raising the tone against Iran, Lebanon and Gaza Strip.   

Hezbollah leader stressed that some Arab countries can buy weapons as much as they want "but some weapons agreements between Iran and Russia were halted such as the S-300 deal."     

"In Lebanon, we have enough courage and capacities to defend our country; “when it will be attacked, we will not wait for anyone’s permission", he said.      

Earlier, Nasrallah said that the Quds issue is “doctrinal” in nature, adding that political disputes cannot affect our stance on Jerusalem.     

Nasrallah stated that the events and developments in all Muslims’ countries over the past year led to the neglect of the Quds issue, stressing that this issue and the conflict with Israel are above all disputes "since they are related to religion and faith".     

Nasrallah added that all Israelis agree that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel; "this is allowing the judaization of Jerusalem to continue". According to him, "Arabs need to reunite under the banner of a similar consensus." "Unfortunately, sometimes our enemy has good qualities", he said.     

The ceremony in which Nasrallah is giving his speech is held in the hall of the Martyr Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr in Hadath, near the Kafaat in Beirut’s Southern Suburbs.
