After a photo went viral on social media platforms showing a woman throwing an empty plastic bottle out of the window of her vehicle in Beirut, Environment Minister Fadi Jreissati filed a lawsuit against the owner of the vehicle, calling for taking legal measures against her.
Jreissati had sent a letter to Interior Minister Raya al-Hassan on June 27, calling on her to impose a fine on everyone who throws garbage out of their car, as implementation of the law pertaining to public cleanliness.
