Hariri congratulates Lebanese on Eid al-Fitr, hopes for stability in Lebanon

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri congratulated on Friday all the Lebanese people in general and the Muslims in particular on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, hoping that Lebanon will overcome this state of chaos and division to reach a phase of political and security stability.

Hariri noted that Eid al-Fitr came at a time when Lebanon is facing dangers threatening its sovereignty, security and economy. He added that this situation is worrying all the Lebanese people, since the government has abandoned its duty to maintain security. “This requires all parties to rise above personal interests and work on ending divisions to save the country from collapsing and to restore hope to all Lebanese”, he stated.

On the Lebanese hostages, Hariri said “We look forward to uniting all efforts in order to release the Lebanese hostages in Syria and to put an end to the series of kidnappings that are only aiming at creating more tension and strife”, Hariri added.
