Mikati: Hostage issue will not remain unresolved
PM Najib Mikati confirmed on Saturday that “the national responsibility requires that everyone cooperate to address the arising issues”.

In his message to congratulate the Lebanese people on Eid al-Fitr, Mikati stressed that he understands the state of anger over the abduction of the Lebanese men in Syria, adding, however, that this does not justify the violations committed against the state and law, in reference to recent abductions and security breaches.

Addressing a student delegation from Harvard University for Business Administration, Mikati stressed that the cabinet did not remain tightlipped towards recent events, but took all appropriate measures to control the violations.

The Premiere also confirmed that the cabinet will work on releasing all Syrian and Turkish hostages while following up on the issue of 11 Lebanese abductees in Syria through continuing efforts with ”sisterly and friendly countries” to secure their release an safe return.

Mikati confirmed that the issue of hostages will not remain unresolved.
