PM Hariri receives phone call from US Pompeo after latest developments

Prime Minister Saad Hariri received on Sunday a phone call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Talks reportedly tackled the latest developments on the local and regional levels.

This as Pompeo asserted the necessity to avoid any escalation and to work with all concerned sides to prevent any form of deterioration.

For his part, Hariri reiterated Lebanon’s commitment to the obligations of International resolutions, in particular resolution No. 170.

He also warned against the dangers of Israel’s continuous violations of resolution No. 1701 and to Lebanese sovereignty, adding that work is needed to stop these violations.

Hariri concluded by stressing that the Lebanese side is deploying all efforts to exercise restraint and to work to ease tensions.
