Hezbollah issues statement after Jordan Valley annexation pledge
Hezbollah issued on Wednesday a statement in which it condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements about his intention to annex the Jordan Valley.
“Such a decision is considered an aggression against the Palestinian people who have the full right to resist any aggression on their land or the capabilities of their country," the statement added.
Hezbollah also considered that such a declaration comes after a series of “Gulf stances that support the enemy’s entity and gave it the right to attack the Arab people in Lebanon and Palestine.”

On Tuesday, Netanyahu on Tuesday announced he intended, “after the establishment of a new government, to apply Israeli sovereignty to the Jordan Valley and the northern Dead Sea,” drawing condemnation from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and leaders across the Arab world.

Around 65,000 Palestinians and 11,000 Israeli settlers live in the Jordan Valley and northern Dead Sea area, according to the Israeli human rights group B'Tselem.

The main Palestinian city is Jericho, with around 28 villages and smaller Bedouin communities.
