President Aoun meets UN envoy Kubis

President Michel Aoun received on Tuesday UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jan Kubis at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

During the meeting, Kubis congratulated Aoun for the endorsement of his proposal to form the Academy for Human Encounters and Dialogue in Lebanon by the UN General Assembly yesterday.

Talks also reportedly featured high over the UN’s stance over the latest developments in Lebanon’s southern borders and the statement issued by the International Support Group for Lebanon.

On another note, Aoun and Kubis tackled the Syrian refugee crisis and the measures taken by Lebanon to prevent their illegal presence on the Lebanese territories.

Aoun also informed his guest that he would be meeting with the UN chief on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York next week.
