Minister Jreissati: World is in race to curb climate change
Environment Minister Fadi Jreissati returned on Friday morning to Beirut after participating in the climate change summit held in New York and holding a number of meetings on the sidelines.
"The world is today in a race to curb climate change and achieve the goals of the Paris Convention on Climate Change and Emission Reduction,” the minister said.
He also noted that Lebanon has “commitments and responsibilities that must be dealt with seriously.”
“We can not ask the International community to stand by us when we are in crisis without fulfilling our obligations," Jreissati added.
He concluded by saying that the International community wants us to should our responsibilities, at least in the waste crisis.”
