Frangieh lauds LAF role, slams absence of state

Al-Marada leader MP Sleiman Frangieh voiced regret on Friday over the current situation in Tripoli, adding that only the army is capable of containing the situation.

Frangieh pointed out a consensus among all politicians that the LAF should be the sole side to control the situation.

In a television interview, Frangieh said that "the state is absent" and the people are securing their rights “with their own hands”.

On a separate note, Frangieh stressed that he does not regret his decision to boycott the national dialogue.
