Industry Minister Wael Abou Faour said Wednesday that there is no justification for the current pessimism, noting that “the last thing the country needs is an atmosphere of uncertainty and apprehension,” stressing the importance of national unity at this stage.
During a conference of food industry support, Abou Faour noted that the discussions of the budget are running smoothly and progressing, stressing that there are no political barricades within the cabinet.
“The general structure of the budget will be passed within days,” he explained.
The minister added that an agreement has been reached within the economic committee to reject all measures that affect the citizens, without any measures affecting the politicians as well, pointing out however that the politicians must be the first to sacrifice, before asking the Lebanese people to make any concessions.
