On the 6th consecutive day since the outbreak of the revolution of the people, “the revolution’s lawyers” issued a statement whereby they said that “October 17 is a historical day since the establishment of the state of Lebanon, where the people spontaneously broke the religious and sectarian barriers and came together against the ruling class.”
“Since the legal profession is a message to defend the rights and freedoms, it was natural to for a number of Lebanese lawyers to take action and come together in this popular uprising to present what they believe is a practical start for a structural reform process for Lebanon,” the statement read.
Consequently, they presented a series of primary proposals and practical steps that constitute a foundation stone to activate the ability to move to an executive uprising from a legal standpoint, their statement said.
