Serra expresses relief over calm and stability prevailing over UNIFIL operations zone
General Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), General Paolo Serra, chaired on Wednesday the regular tripartite military meeting at the UN Naqoura headquarter.

The talks touched on an array of affairs relevant to the implementation of UN Security Council's resolution 1701, the situation along the Blue Line, borders violations and accidents, and Israel's withdrawal from north Ghajar.

"The meeting was constructive, whereby both [Lebanese and Israeli] parties voiced full support for and commitment to working with the UNIFIL so as to implement the resolution 1701 related provisions and curb tension along the Blue Line," Serra said in the wake of the meeting.

The international peacekeepers chief also expressed relief over the calm and stability prevailing in the UNIFIL operations zone, saying that both parties renewed commitment to ceasing aggressive acts.
