Latest developments in investigations in case of former Minister Michel Samaha
The military investigative judge Riadh Abou Ghayda is still lingering in taking a judicial decision concerning the suspect Major General Ali Mamlouk, despite the existence of tangible evidence in the case of planning explosions and despite the clear prosecution of Judge Sami Sader.

Judicial sources told LBCI that an arrest warrant was issued against Mamlouk, while the request sent to summon before the judge was not answered. The sources said that Judge Abou Ghayda is searching for an acceptable judicial procedure, “not holding a media aspect”.

Security sources replied to the aforementioned case confirming that they are ready to provide the judiciary with the complete identity of Major General Mamlouk, expressing surprise towards the delay in following up this case despite the availability of clear evidence.

The same sources stressed that in case it was necessary to listen to Miled Kfoury’s testimony, they will be ready to call him via video call to speak with the judge.

In this context, security forces are pursuing the examination of the DNA found in Samaha’s car used in transporting explosives from Syria to Lebanon, following rumors stating that there were some people accompanying him during the trip. Sources said that the name of General Jamil Sayyed was mentioned by two witnesses, one from Damascus and the other from the borders. Meanwhile, investigations are conducted to reveal whether or not this information is correct.
