UN warns of attempts to destabilize Lebanon

The U.N. Security Council warned on Thursday of attempts to undermine Lebanon’s stability and issued a resolution condemning all the attempts to threaten Lebanon’s security and stability.

The Council reiterated that it will not allow anything to prevent the UNIFIL from carrying out its mission in Lebanon.

The UNSC voiced its “deep concern” over the violations of Resolution 1701 that was issued to put an end to a 33-day-long war between Israel and Hezbollah in summer 2006.
