Head of the Association of Banks in Lebanon Salim Sfeir declared that Banque Du Liban Governor Riad Salameh has been tasked to take the necessary temporary measures in coordination with the association to issue the circulars proposed by the governor.
Following a financial meeting held at Baabda presidential palace headed by President Michel Aoun, Sfeir said that the conferees stressed the need to preserve the monetary situation and the liberal system that has always characterized Lebanon.
The meeting was attended by ministers Ali Hassan Khalil, Salim Jreissati, Mansour Bteish, Adel Afyouni, BDL governor Riad Salameh, head of the banks supervisory committee, head of the Association of Banks, Hariri’s economic advisor and presidency’s director general Antoine Choucair.
