Haniyeh orders interior ministry to monitor Egypt border
Prime minister of the Hamas-run Gaza government Ismail Haniyeh gave commands to his interior ministry to monitor Gaza's border with Egypt according to AFP.

Haniyeh called upon Egyptian president Muhammad Mursi to facilitate the entry of fuel from Qatar into the coastal enclave, to speed up efforts to open a duty-free area between Egypt and Gaza, and to help end the siege on the strip.

Haniyeh promised that the new cabinet would give priority to water, electricity and infrastructure issues. He instructed his government’s ministry of works to prepare for a Qatari grant allocated for reconstructions in the war-torn Gaza Strip.

Commenting on reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah, Haniyeh asserted that a cabinet reshuffle would not impede reconciliation "if there is serious will to implement what has been agreed on during reconciliation talks."
