Christian worshippers attended Christmas Day morning mass at the Church of the Nativity in the West Bank town of Bethlehem on Wednesday.
Acting Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Pierbattista Pizzaballa led the service in the town revered by Christians as Jesus’ place of birth. The church pews were packed with worshippers attending the ceremony, which included a choir singing hymns.
Christmas festivities in Bethlehem attract pilgrims from around the world and the town is enjoying its busiest tourist year in two decades.
