Berri calls for formation of a Cabinet that combats corruption

Speaker Nabih Berri said on Monday that Prime Minister-designate Hassan Diab has put on himself "conditions that were not required from him which complicated the cabinet formation process.”

Berri’s comments were made during a meeting with a delegation from the Press Syndicate whereby he called for the formation of a cabinet “that combats corruption and saves the country.”

“I do not want Diab to restrict me and to restrict himself,” Berri added.

"50 percent of the reasons behind the economic deterioration are pure political and I assert to you that saving Lebanon is possible,” he noted.

On another note, Berri noted that "there is no longer a revolution, adding that protests “are simply being led by three local TV stations."
