Geagea calls on all Lebanese to welcome the Pope
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea called on all the Lebanese to welcome Pope Benedict XVI during his three-day visit to Lebanon, stressing that this visit comes amid a critical time in the region.

Geagea said the Pope's visit would also soothe the Christians of the Middle East.

"I call on all party members and all the Lebanese irrespective of their religious affiliation to welcome the Pope and to take part in the religious mass ceremony since the Holy Sea conveys a message of peace and love for all humanity," Geagea said.

The head of the Lebanese Forces added that the Pope is visiting Lebanon despite all the security circumstances, noting that the Pope intends to spread the culture of peace and dialogue not only among the Lebanese but among all people of the region.
