Health Minister: We can still win this battle

Health Minister Hamad Hassan held a press conference on Wednesday in which he discussed the latest developments of the coronavirus outbreak in Lebanon.

Hassan said: “Lebanon is still in danger and in the eye of the storm and we may slip quickly if we do not know that the battle has been managed properly."

Hassan reiterated that the numbers are good so far and the rate of infection was manageable and local transmission was still weak, “but this matter is not an excuse to believe that the fight is over.”

He also added: "We are coming on a new stage, which will start on Sunday for expatriates, and this is a new challenge. The lesson in our success in this challenge must be attentive and commitment to the plan established."

He confirmed two new deaths from coronavirus in Rafic Hariri Hospital, bringing the total number of deaths to 14. He also stated that there might be a new third, but he did not confirm it.
